Economic Benefits

The South Ripley Solar Project will provide a wide range of economic benefits to the Town of Ripley, Chautauqua County, and the State of New York.

Benefits to the Town of Ripley

Annual payments of over $1 million to the Town of Ripley and Fire Department, totaling more than $30 million over the project’s operational life.
Payments to Sherman and Ripley School Districts, totaling more than $15 million over the project’s operational life.
Land payments totaling over $20 million through lease, easement, and other land-related agreement to local landowners over the life of the project.

Benefits to Chautauqua County

Annual tax revenues of more than $190,000 to Chautauqua County, totaling more than $7.8 million over the project’s operational life
Creating more than 240 family-wage construction jobs directly and supporting other jobs by increasing business activity among equipment rentals, materials suppliers, and hospitality services

Benefits to New York State

Incremental economic benefits of more than $48 million to New York State in the first three years of project operations
